Learning To Live

There may be time still on the clock, but, I can already tell you, this year has been one for the books.

On January 1st, 2014, at approximately 12:02 a.m., amidst an explosion of balloons and confetti, I turned to my old coworker, Rafe, and declared,
“2014 is going to be one of the best years of my life.”
And I was not wrong. I have been blessed to live some pretty stellar years in my short tenure on earth, and this one was no exception.

Of course, one of the most incredible parts of my year was giving birth to what you're looking at right now - my blog! What started as passion project has blossomed into a budding career path and the new focus of my life. It, and you, have so far been with me through thirteen countries and what seems like a life-time of experience, and I simply can't wait to share more. Already, 2015 is shaping up to be another incredibly exciting time for me and for A Pilot's Daughter!
That said, it’s not just the blog that causes me to look back so fondly on the past twelve months; it’s the fact that I learned so much more about how to live. I've made a point to love big, laugh hard, hurt terribly, and breathe deeply. I've connected with family I had never known, made friends I feel like I’ve always known, and got to know myself in a greater way than ever before.
And I want to celebrate that; why not?! After all, life’s just one big party, right? You try to prepare yourself, look your best, arrive with the right goodies, but ultimately you never know how it’s going to turn out. You just make the best of it!
So I am celebrating, and I'm doing it in a new and special way. I'm celebrating with... (drumroll please) my first ever VIDEO! It’s cheesy, it’s fun, it’s uplifting (someone else’s words) and above all, it’s a celebration of one incredible year.
I sincerely hope you enjoy it and get a sense of just how happy and grateful I am be living my life in this way.

You, my readers, are absolutely vital to me and to this blog and I one of my resolutions is to get to know you all more! If you like, love, or loathe the video, or any other content for that matter, please do comment, like, or share accordingly. I want you all to be a bigger part of my upcoming adventures, and I have some exciting thoughts on how to make that happen! More about that in the following weeks...

In the meantime, I hope this little compilation of mine jiggles your heart and tugs on your suitcase! I'm wishing you all of truly beautiful end to a truly special year. Xx
